The Windsurf Club (www.windsurfsup.com) are pleased to announce a race weekend for wing and IQ foils.
Details are as follows:
- The event will take place in Peterhead on Saturday 7th and Sunday 8th April 2025 from approx 9:30am to 4:30pm (exact times to be confirmed).
- Please see the Notice of Race here
- If the club decides the weather forecast is not suitable we will refund your payment.
- The cost is £75pp and includes coach fee (day rate and expenses), rescue boat fuel etc.
- The 2 day event with include race rules coaching, on the water practice and some fun racing.
- The coaching will include on land theory (rules, flags, tactics, overview of typical race courses etc) and on water practice (starts and gybe/ tack practice etc)
- The aim of the weekend is to give an opportunity to practice racing in a friendly and fun environment. We will also run some races that will count towards the Scottish Fin and Foil 2025 Series. It’s a great opportunity to get some practice in before the Scottish Fin and Foil Championships in Stranraer in August 2025
- The event is open to a maximum of 5 IQ foilers and 7 wingfoilers
- All participants will be required to be members of the Windsurf club. People residing of Aberdeenshire/ Aberdeen city will be eligible to pay a reduced membership price of £5 to cover the 2025 season (as they live too far away to pay normal membership of £30 per year). Payment will be collected separately for membership.
- Open to Adult and Junior/Youth competent IQ foilers and wingfoilers who are self sufficient
- Minimum age is 13 years old
